Named after a chapter from Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America and singing songs based around ocean explorers and space travel, The Winchell Riots follow up last year’s sold-out debut release with the 4 track ‘Figure 8s EP’, out June 6th. Around the release the band will play a series of headline shows, including a release party at London’s Old Blue Last and a hometown show at Oxford’s O2 Academy2.
Crocodiles, hailing from San Diego, California - pronounced as the band to watch by Spin magazine in June 2009 - bring a unique blend of Indie sound fuelled by their determined aversion to the mainstream. Citing “oldies, girl groups and ‘60s music” as their influences, the duo have the unambiguous goal of “blurring the lines between violence and beauty” with their music.
